Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and Purpose by Tony Hsieh

Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion, and PurposeI wasn't sure what to expect from this book, written by the CEO of Zappos. I thought it might be an egotistical story or a boring 'how-to-run-a-business' book.

It definitely was neither. I finished this book in two nights because it read like a novel. Hsieh is amazingly transparent, funny, generous and smart. He tells the story of the highs and lows of getting Zappos started and he clearly thinks a lot of his employees and gives them credit for the successes.

Small Business Web Sites Made Easy by Steven Holzner

Small Business Web Sites Made Easy (Made Easy Series)
I disagree with the "easy" part of this title. I think newcomers to web design would find this book hard to follow. It gives a overview of different web technologies, such as php and css, but I think a true beginner would walk away not knowing how these pieces work together. It would be a better newbie book if it focused on just a few key topics (however the author chooses to define it) with practical exercises to see how they work.

People who know a bit about web design already would probably get more out of this book than true beginners. They could use it as a jumping off point to focus on specific topics later in in-depth manuals.
