The Way We're Working Isn't Working by Tony Schwartz

The Way We're Working Isn't Working: The Four Forgotten Needs That Energize Great PerformanceThe title alone is a great commentary on our times and is a good one for managers to read. The author's questions and insights apply to everyone though, especially those who are working too hard.

- Is the life you're living worth the price you're paying to live it?

- More sleep = More work done. (We're not effective if we're not getting enough sleep).

- We have vast knowledge, but little self knowledge.

- If you don't plan your day, you'll respond to anything that's thrown at you.

- Intensity with recovery is more productive than continuous efforts.

- Gossiping uses energy unnecessarily.

If everyone read this book, we'd find ourselves in very different workplaces.
