There really is something tranquil about adult coloring books which makes Tranquility an appropriate name for this one. Unlike a typical coloring book, this one is formatted as a devotional and journal with prompts. Most coloring books invite you to completely zone out while this one instead helps you to focus on an aspect of the Christian faith.
Each section of the journal has two pages on a specific theme with a short prayer, scripture verse, quote, and several lines for journaling. Although it invites people to color portions of the pages, it is very colorful for those who prefer to use it for journaling only.
What I like is that it offers short meditations for people who are on the go and may only have a few minutes in the morning. They can read the prayer and verse while jotting down some notes. The coloring portion can serve as a good meditation for the focus of that section and perhaps helpful for unwinding at the end of a busy day.
What I did not like was the amount of coloring already in the book. Although it does make the book more attractive, since I enjoy coloring, I would like to have more black and white throughout. Overall, it is a nice book for combining coloring with journaling.
