Gratitude: A Prayer and Praise Coloring Journal

I love to color. And I think that’s a weird thing to say as an adult. There’s something to it though. To completely relax for the moment without a goal.

Gratitude: A Prayer and Praise Coloring Journal, isn’t your typical adult coloring book though. It’s meant to be used as part of devotional time rather than to completely zone out.

My first impression is that the book was too nice to write in! But that may be a good thing for people who don't feel they are creative enough - it's an attractive book no matter what you do with it.

Some pages have prompts such as “write down your feelings about God’s promise to never abandon you” (which is a reference to Hebrews 13:5) and other pages are more free flowing with a prayer, a scripture verse and a place to write some notes. This part is ideal for people who are new to journaling. There is not a lot of space so people are not overwhelmed with self inflicted pressure to write for a long period of time. And the topics on each page, such as forgiveness, contentment, and thankfulness provide a good starting point for journaling.

Most of the designs to color in are very detailed so someone who is just starting out with this hobby may not like the level of detail. But there is a lot of color throughout so it does not need to be colored at all.

Overall, it’s a good start for people who are new to adult coloring books as well as journaling.    You may want to explore the Tyndale website for additional coloring and journaling products.
